Ito Shoha (1877-1968),real name Sato,a daughter of the Ujitoko family,and a direct descendant from Sarutahiko-o-kami, studiedpainting first under Isobe Hyakurin,and later went to Kyoto to be a follower ofTaniguchi Kokyo.
She married Ito Rojo,her fellow pupil,while various prestigious prizes she won made her famous as a woman painterespecially good at historical paintings and paintings of beautiful-women. Shelived long, to the age of ninety.
