Folktale: Transmuted Girl, Myokendo
There once lived a Shinto priestnearby. 0ne day his beloved daughter fell into a river.
Worried neighborssearched for her as hard possible but in vain. They recovered the statue
which, resembling a girl, reminded them of the missing child. They built a small
temple,Myokendo, nearby to be dedicated to the statue. Now the statue hasbeen moved
to another place. All that remains is a mysteriousfolktale of a girl transformed into Buddha.
