Jugan-ji-Temple
Near the street, going up a flight ofsharp stone steps, there is an old temple, Jugan-
in. The temple, founded in1615, was destroyed by a big flre and was rebuilt here in 
1706.
 In the grounds there are three stonestatues of Buddha,Migawari jizo which would
 sacrifice itself for sick people,Nemurijiz5 which would stop children from crying in the
 night, and Enmei jizo,atalisman of longevity. The face of Migawari jizo is said to have
 beenbroken because the Buddha sacrificed itself for one with some facialdisfigurement.
 In another corner stands a stonemonument 
Miura Chora
 born in Toba. On it is carved his Haiku poem,My hermitage's simply surrouned by
 fallen leaves of hackberry.
